Growing vegetables for home was always part of farm life. In more recent times with easy accessibility to shopping centres and less workers to help on the farm many have reduced their home produce garden. At Hutton Vale we have been preserving and actively growing vegetables for the last 30 years. This pursuit has been driven by our commitment to flavour.
Our Farm Follies label started in 1990 as a result of a wonderful crop of pears in quantities beyond our consumption. Rather than waste them we started bottling, drying pickling and chutney making. We continue with a range of chutneys, still handmade in small batches and available at selected retailers and cellar doors.
